These flags in the Alabama Department of Archives & History's collection represent Alabama’s military traditions from colonial times through the 1860s. It is hoped that knowledge of this collection will foster additional interest in the preservation of flags and illustrate the preservation needs of all types of fragile material in the Archives' collections.
